L3 OCN Getting to Grips with the Core Curricula - Supporting Learners with ESOL/Literacy
Thursday 11th March 2010, 9.30 - 4.00

The event aims to provide teaching staff of any subject with an understanding of the Adult Literacy and ESOL Core Curricula documents, including paperbased and online versions. These documents can enable teachers of other subjects to understand what ESOL/literacy skills their learners may need to develop and how to plan for supporting them with developing particular skills.

This is a 2 day practical introduction to identifying and developing individual mentoring skills and associated aspects including supporting peers/clients/staff, and monitoring and recording their progress.

Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS)
Tuesday 4th, 11th & 18th May and 1st & 8th June 2010, 9.30-4.00
ESSU Training Room, Suite 6, Faretec Building, Cams Hall Estate, Fareham

This course is designed as an introduction to teaching. You do not need to be a teacher or have classroom contact. However, this course is also useful for experienced teachers or assessors delivering underpinning skills.
